Adam: I think we should date seriously.
Trina: *thinking* What lane am I supposed to be in for Dupont Circle?

Adam: We should get to know each other better before I propose.
Trina: Did you just say what I think you said?
Adam: Yes ... *pause* ... What am I saying????

Adam: Trina, will you marry me?
Trina: You have to get down on one knee when you say that.
Adam: *steps back and drops to one knee* Trina Palmer, will you marry me?
Trina: *after a lengthy pause, in which she had to remind herself how to breathe* Yes!

A few minutes later, walking down the hill ...
Adam: Did I just propose?
Trina: Are we engaged?
