I dated Jessica Simpson.

Okay, it was only one date... and she wasn't the Jessica Simpson who is famous. But it's my claim to fame. And Candace Cameron was my freshman calligraphy teacher. Again, not the actress. Just the same name. (Candace Cameron played the oldest sister -- DJ Tanner -- on Full House. To give an age perspective, the youngest, Michelle, was played by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.)

But I have met some real celebrities!

I've met several of the King's Singers, past and present. There are six in the group at any given time, and I've met about ten of them. Some only briefly, and some I got to know a little. I got autographs from all of them.

Ben and I met Colm Meaney (of Star Trek NG) on Catalina Island, and he signed one of my UNO cards. Colm Meaney played Chief Obrien - NG's version of the late great Montgomery Scott.

I met Walt Morey (author of Gentle Ben) a couple of times in elementary school, and I still have my autographed copy of the book.

Most recently I met Joe Moglia, CEO of Ameritrade and former Dartmouth football coach. He autographed my copy of his book on investing.
