The Song Game is based on the board game Encore™.
We generally play by either writing down several words or topics to be drawn at random, or by making them up on the spot throughout the game. Divide into two fairly equal teams. One team selects a word, and the other team (or at least one member of the team) must sing a song using that word. It is not necessary to sing the whole song; just enough to verify that the word is there will suffice. Teams take turns coming up with additional songs until one team cannot think of any more. The other team gets a point and a new word is selected. Continue as long as people are willing to keep playing and can think up more words to use.
One variation to avoid overcompetetiveness and temper tantrums: Instead of forming teams, each person gets to sing one song for each word chosen. There are no points and no "stumping" in this version.
