Egyptian Ratscrew
2 or more players
Equipment: a deck of playing cards, or multiple decks for large groups.
Divide the cards evenly among the players. Each player takes a turn snapping a card onto the "stack" (the first card played creates the stack). If two cards of the same value are played in a row, players slap the doubles. First player to slap the stack takes possession of the whole stack, and play continues from that player. Players who have run out of cards or who wish to join the game can "slap in" when doubles are played. If a face card is played, the next player has anywhere from 1 to 4 chances to play another face card (Jack=1, Queen=2, King=3, Ace=4). If no face card comes up within those chances, the previous player - whoever played the last face card - takes the stack. If the player does come up with a face card, the next player must get a face card by the same rules. Play continues until one player holds all the cards.
